Jethro Tull brengt deze compilatie uit in de inmiddels bekende boekvorm, met zes schijven, onder de titel “Still Living In The Past”. Parlophone/Warner Brothers brengt het album op 11 juli a.s. op de markt.

“Living In The Past” is een collectie van bekende stukken, outtakes en singles uit de jaren tot dan toe, inclusief de “Life Is A Long Song EP” uit 1971 en twee live opnamen van een concert in New York’s Carnegie Hall in november 1970.

De nieuwe versie, die ook uitkomt op een dubbel-lp, bevat het originele album, hetzelfde maar dan gemixt door Steven Wilson, edits, demo’s, videoclips en het complete concert van Carnegie Hall, ook weer gemixt door Steven Wilson. De laatste schijf is een Blu-ray met het album in surround mixen.

Ian Anderson is enthousiast: “53 jaar na de oorspronkelijke uitgave klinkt dit album als een geweldige toevoeging aan de heruitgaven. Het album was destijds bedoeld om de fans in de VS en Europa te laten horen wat het Britse publiek al kende. Ik herinner me de opnamen van veel van deze stukken nog verrassend levendig, sommige kan ik zelfs nog uit mijn hoofd spelen zonder aarzeling. Ze zijn hier en daar wat wonderlijk, en ze bestrijken de vele muzikale stijlen die we in onze loopbaan hebben aangetikt. Ze laten mijn pogingen horen om mijn talenten in componeren en arrangeren te verbreden voorbij de rock- en bluesnummers uit ons vroege begin. De stukken met mandoline en akoestische gitaar zijn mijn persoonlijke favorieten.”
